The gold standard approach to the management of any child abuse case integrates a collaborative approach with an interprofessional and interdisciplinary team. A multidisciplinary approach is recommended and it is the responsibility of the mandated reporter to initiate this approach, which lies with frontline providers to recognize the need for this approach to prevent significant mortality or morbidity.
