Returning to the case, given the chief complaint, a child abuse pediatrician was consulted by the providers of the pediatric emergency room. The child abuse pediatrician recommended that both children be triaged for a comprehensive evaluation for non-accidental trauma. And imaging in the form of a skeletal survey as well as neuroimaging were recommended by the child abuse pediatrician to the treating providers in the pediatric emergency room.
