When child abuse is suspected, medical providers are responsible for contacting their state’s child abuse hotline. In many states, there are specific mandated reporter numbers. Physicians and other licensed health care providers are mandated reporters of child maltreatment and neglect.
Mandated Reporters in New York State should call 311 in NYC or call the SCR's Mandated Reporter hotline directly at 1(800) 635-1522. If the child is in immediate danger, call 911.

As we know, exposure to IPV is considered child maltreatment. So, as mandated reporters, we must report. So when child abuse is suspected, providers are responsible for contacting their state's child abuse hotline. In many states, there are specific mandated reporter numbers. Physicians and other licensed health providers are mandated reporters of child maltreatment and neglect. In New York State, you can call 311, or the New York State or the State Central Registry. For mandated reporters, you can call the hotline directly at 1-800-635-1522. And if the child is in immediate danger, please call 911.
